Kick It! Quit Today! Stop Smoking

Would you buy that smell in a bottle for $3,500? That is exactly what you are doing , including poisoning yourself, your loved ones, your  child, your unborn child, your friends , work mates and anyone who comes in contact with what you have just 'puffed' out.

I used to be a 'smoker', my father smoked, it was a smell I associated with and when I was introduced to smoking in my teenage years, the relationship between smoking and being loved/popular/ familiar was not something alien to me and I easily took to it.  It was fashionable, all 'my friends' smoked. There was no thought of harm, no thought of physical damage to myself or anyone else. There were even large sponsorships of sporting events, advertisements promoting smoking as something healthy!  People at work smoked and the damage from passive smoking was just as bad as smoking itself and I was ignorant of this fact.

So what changed.  Long term damage to my lungs, the cough, the frequent chest infections, shortness of breath, the inability to be able to keep up with the children, potential future illnesses associated with smoking related diseases.

I remember it well. It was just before Christmas,  I had taken the children to school and on the way home I stopped to buy a pack of 20's.  My young son was with me, clawing at my arm, grasping a packet of  play cigarettes and whinging saying I want to be like mummy.   I stopped in my tracks, my head swimming as the truth dawned on me, I was teaching my child to smoke!   I walked out of that shop 22 years ago as a 'non-smoker' and have never smoked since.  I did not have any withdrawal symptoms but I was left with a legacy of constant colds and chest infections during the winter months.

How did I do it? It was an overwhelming emotion linked to a reality, the reality I was  teaching my son to smoke and I was also affecting his health.  When my unconscious mind, the part of the mind where emotions are stored, linked with the conscious mind where logic is active, and connected powerfully to the preservation of life , I knew, without a doubt I had to STOP SMOKING  immediately.  The desire  left me completely in that instant. I had  made a decision and in so doing , re-programmed my mind .

Hypnosis  and  NLP can  help you do that re-programming.   Smokers have been  programmed to associate with cigarettes and smoking a certain way  and have developed a trigger  with that association.  During hypnosis and NLP,  the association  with smoking and cigarettes is discovered  and then dismantled , the emotion that is attached to smoking is removed.

For some people, even though you might know that smoking is bad for your health ,  continue to smoke. The nicotine in tobacco  has been poisoning the body systems over a period of time. Nicotine is a drug that creates a rush in your system and your mind becomes associated with this rush.  Withdrawals  symptoms such as headaches,  irritability, restlessness, sore throat, fatigue, colds, coughs, nervousness, sadness, insomnia, and a host of other problems affect many people attempting to give up with out the help of Hypnosis.

In Hypnosis and NLP the use of relaxation, altered awareness, visualization, guided imagery and suggestions are used.  You will learn how to relax  in situations where in the past you had smoked, or in situations that use to call for a cigarette.

Our treatments range from one session to three/ four sessions. In fact research shows that multi sessions of hypnosis are more effective in cessation of smoking programmes.  Our sessions are non-invasive, and easily implemented.   From cessation of smoking to, health and wellness.

I am often asked by smokers, will I gain weight when I stop smoking. During hypnosis we address these issues as well.  The proper training is self-hypnosis  , behaviour modification and  suggestions are given for the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, the kind you want to do that is sustainable together with suggestions of eating a healthy , well balanced diet.
